“Clear the Clutter”: Spring Cleaning the Chakras!
Yin Yoga is a yoga practice that utilizes deep stretch holds for a length of time to increase flexibility and circulation in joints, muscles, and connective tissues. Yin encourages the Yogi to find stillness and peace while releasing tension.
This workshop will introduce students to Yin Yoga practice through asanas (poses) specific to each Chakra in the body. The students will learn how each asanaencourages the joints to open, the fascia to release, and the muscles to lengthen and create space in the body. We use the breath to expand that space and “clear out the clutter”, releasing what is no longer serving us, and to be intentional about what we want in our body/environment.
This practice will be a floor-based sequence of passive stretch holds and gentle movements. It is suitable for all levels. We will be utilizing props (blocks, bolsters, straps) and making modifications where needed. Janet Gamerl will be teaching Yin Restorative classes on one Sunday every month at Blue beginning in April.
Cost per person is $25.00. Cash the day of the event with a RSVP by March 20 or Venmo.

Janet was born and raised in Chicago, IL. but has been an Omaha transplant for more than 30 years now! She and Tim have 3 adult children combined, a dog named Ruby and a cat named Penny.:). Janet has been personally practicing Yoga for decades and has always dreamed of being able to share her love of the practice with others.
After years in Social Work/Hospice/Behavioral/ Clinical Health Care careers, and experiences shared with people of different ages/abilities/cultures/socio-economic populations/ family systems- Janet wanted to be able to bring the practice to others in hopes that they will find peace, strength, resilience, and grace in Yoga like she did. Janet spent over a year studying and practicing for her teaching certificate and has been teaching yoga and relaxation since in a variety of settings. Janet continues to deepen her understanding of Yoga Philosophy, Asana, and the Mind-Body connection through continuous education and specializations.
Whatever health and healing looks like for each individual's needs, Janet uses her education, experience, and current research to try to help others transform by enhancing the mind-body connection, encouraging flexibility, mobility, balance, and the ability to relax the nervous system to restore and increase health and happiness.
